Never mind the webcomic...

We're filming again!!

A Treatise Regarding Music and Fans

'Cause shows need music. It only LOOKED like we were neglecting this. We weren't at all.

We've had a number of volunteers and options, almost all of which were volunteering out of the goodness of their brown-coated little hearts. (Almost. Grr. But I digress.)

Everyone please welcome Andrew MacDonald, ItB.Ca's very own "Andrew the Great", our newly-anointed Duke of Music. A sample of his work is in the background of Dr. Call's speech, but I expect we'll hear more soon, especially since as a full production crew member of this site he can upload things now. ;)

Shanghaied!!

Filming did indeed take place this weekend past, and on the whole it went really well. We'll probably have to grab a few more shots in the forest, but we got some great stuff in the can, including the Climactic Scene With Loud Noises.

In what's becoming our signature style, there were several show-stopper problems, and we solved them then and there and got good footage anyway. An important costume piece was missing, so we wrote it out in a manner that will look even better onscreen than having it... we'd completely forgotten an important prop so we made it out of the stuff that was lying around, and it looks great... and at least half of our henchman extras were no-shows...

Rolling!

Ladies and gentlemen, we are now truly under way. We spent yesterday in our annoyingly hot set actually shooting. And we achieved some gorram good footage, too.

By my estimate, eight more shooting days until the first episode we're going to release (which, in the tradition of Firefly is actually the series' second episode, "Mined Control") is in the can.

Then, of course, we have to take it back out of the can and fry it into a delicious Whedonesque casserole for all of you, mmm nummy. :D

Greetings and Progress and Anniversary

Welcome to all newcomers, particularly those coming in from Wired Online (we like you a little better because of your very fine hats).

With the always-welcome spike in interest, I thought now would be a good time to post a little update for everyone.

On June 11, 2005, the Vancouver Browncoats had a picnic in Stanley Park to celebrate Jewel Staite's birthday and also the general existence of Firefly. At this event, I first met Eric, and Laura and I first carried a lonely sheet of paper around asking if people wanted to do a fan film...

Moving Right Along!

We may have lost the original galley location, but on the same day we found a new location for not only that, but the infirmary and cockpit as well!

Much more easily accessible locations, too. Work begins immediately if not sooner - this week - and we'll have more pictures of the new bits in progress.

In the meantime, TWO new production diaries have been produced and uploaded! They are on hand for everyone's giggling pleasure in the media gallery - everyone give our Official Documentarian TheRob a big hand for his excellent work!

We have a chat!

Check it out.

And bring your friends, after all, that's what a chat is for.
