Soup's Blog - We're in the News!

Hey all,

Just to let ya'll know that we are officially in public media! That's right, today Into The Black has been featured in a local newspaper, the Vancouver Courier. We got the cover page and a 2 page article. I look especially goofy, but that may be because I'm just plain ugly.

For those of you who aren't local and can't get a copy... sucks to be you! Hahhaha! Actually, here's a link to the paper http://www.vancourier.com/ It should be on the front page, if that doesn't work then try the direct link, although you miss out on the awesome cover shot of Jason and Miranda http://www.vancourier.com/issues06/103206/news/103206nn1.html.

Enjoy!

Huzzah!

Yay us!

Shiny! Excellent news. I

Shiny! Excellent news. I tried to read it, but after the 5th or 10th paragraph I was tired and the wine was starting to kick in and blur my vision. The plug for intotheblack.ca was good, hopefully it drums up some interest.

Food for thought, perhaps you should put a "sponsor us" paypal link on the site. I'd be glad to throw $50.00 towards the project. And I know you said 3-4 episodes per year, but if you could manage 12 that would be AWESOME! So I'll "show you the money".. if you want.

Super Shiny!

12 ...in a year..

12 ...in a year.. *twitch*

That's pushing it a bit much - the crew all gots real jobs and lifes, so they're restricted to weekend shoots, and even those are hampered by real life. 3-4 episodes sounds fairly good to me, especially if they throw in the comic spinoffs and such they've rumbled about.

Radio Drama might be fun to give a try on, too

Yeah, 3 or 4 a year should

Yeah, 3 or 4 a year should hold us over... Until Joss gets fed up with the networks, buys his own cable channel and picks us up for a whole season.

Article

Couple of notes... I'm pretty sure the first time I met Damien was actually at Batman Begins! Second, Troy was really the first actor for Jon. We'd talked to people previously, but no one had ever really committed and then had to back out.

I think three eppy's a year is a little optimistic... I'm thinking two at the most. True, we have our spaceship set now, but unless we film entirely on board, exteriors take a long time to organize and shoot.

But damn, those are fun pics! I love the one of Jason and Miranda!

I think I had told him the

I think I had told him the story as it had been relayed to me. That there was a guy who piped up at a meeting and said he'd play the Captain, and then never showed up again :)

Also the bulk of the prop

Also the bulk of the prop guns are actually MINE, not Aaron's.

Im so proud of you all

Admittedly Peter messed up a few things - but all in all its a great positive article showing everyone what can be accomplished on a little non existant budget with lots of people and planning and heart!

Lana - Slave of the Verse (and ITB) and general set Mom

The only thing actually

The only thing actually missing from the article...is a link to the site.

It's there.... you have to

It's there.... you have to look for it in the artical... but it's there

Mother bitchen sweet

10/20/06 - Front Page Article WOW Thats really impressive guys! You should definitely be proud. This definitely puts a bit of a scope on things! I even took it upon myself to e-mail the paper about this article. See, we dont get that down here in the states. All we get is "If it bleeds, it leads." on every front page article and every 11 O'clock news show.

"I'd rather reign in heaven than serve in hell."
"Let justice reign or let the heavens fall."
