Yes it's true, the cameras were once again rolling this weekend.
Earlier in the week, Damien surprised me with a call telling me that he had set up a shoot for the weekend, in order to complete some of our remaining (non cockpit related) scenes.
So after a few days of furious planning and phone calls, we got the people arranged, and figured out the elements we needed. A quick plundering of a popular TV show's wardrobe lock-up provided the requisite costumes for our cast, as well as a little advice from the prop's department regarding an important element, and we were good to go.
A small group of us (Me, Miranda, Damien, Dennis and his son Jake) gathered at Damien's house Saturday morning, where we had the actors try on their costumes (yay, they fit perfectly!), and Miranda did their make-up. We then loaded up our people and stuff, and off to Aaron's!
Damien picked up our editor Matt along the way, and Miranda's fiancé Greg joined us there with his camera. We then gathered up all the stuff from Aaron's, and headed off to a nearby park to film the scenes.
We were able to quickly set up, and for the first time in a long time, ITB was once again before the lens.
The important prop for the scene worked perfectly (we were all a little concerned about it, as none of us had done anything like that before), and the actors performed well, and in a matter of a couple of hours, we were able to shoot everything we needed.
We then tore down, and took everything back to Aaron's, where we made plans to finish off the sequences these scenes belong to. We're planning to shoot the other scenes on the 27th, fingers crossed.
After that's all done, all that will remain is the cockpit scenes, and plans are afoot to get the cockpit finished soon. So hopefully we'll be in the cockpit and filming in October.
YAY US!
