Henry (Hank) Forsberg is Sera’s bodyguard and mentor. He has been with Sera ever since she was born and has never left her side. He is, in a very real sense, her surrogate father - the fate of Sera's real father, Bastian, is something of a mystery.

Not much is known about Hank’s past other than he has been with the White Roses for most of his life. Any personal information about him before then has remained, well, personal. While in the White Roses he quickly rose from being a lowly peon to the protector of the syndicate’s most valued treasure, its future 'queen', Sera.

Although Hank is with Sera on Samsara he doesn’t trust the crew at all, especially Jon. He is not actively discourteous or unpleasant to them; in his line of work, lack of trust is a survival skill. Generally a silent person, he will always speak up when a situation or suggestion arises that may threaten Sera’s safety and security. He would not hesitate to kill any one of the crew (especially Jon) if he had to, though he is slowly gaining a soft spot for the wild and perpetually happy warrior girls Kitty and Teddie.

Despite this, Hank knows that his own survival at this point depends more than a little on that of the ship. To Lady Elisabeth and the Roses, he is the worst kind of traitor and marked for death, even though he only left them for love of Sera.

Since Hank has been with the White Roses for a very long time he has a variety of skills, mostly combative. He’s an expert marksman, and a very skilled fighter. Ain’t many men in the ‘Verse who can drop Hank... of course, then there’s Kitty.
