Flan NewsNews of the Firefly 'Verse, and its flans.
The Captain on Battlestar GalacticaWell, it was suggested to me that you all might be interested in this. I worked regularly on Battlestar Galactica all throughout season 4 playing an officer. I can usually be seen in the CIC, but I show up at numerous places around the ship. I never did get an actual speaking role on the show, but the week before last, in the episode titled The Oath, I had a nice little scene. As Lee and Kara are going through the corridors, Lee turns a corner, and there I am, with a pistol in my hand. I signal I'm on their side, and I head on down the opposite direction. It was quick, it was cool, and I got some nice coverage. Check out the pictures below :) Happy Birthday to our own Sera York! The lovely and talented Miranda Coombe turns a ripe ol' 20 years old today. Happy Birthday Miranda! comic con 2008In case anyone out there is at Comic Con this year (say hi! if you see me), I put out some little trading cards at the California Browncoats booth. Be sure to stop by and pick some up! There is one for each cast member. Can't Stop the SerenityFor those of you out in the black who aren't yet aware, Vancouver is hosting this year's "Can't Stop the Serenity" event on June 22nd, at the Norm Theatre at UBC. For anyone interested in attending, ticket information can be found at the link provided below. We hope to see lots of Browncoats in attendance! It promises to be a fun filled day, with filking, a silent auction, and a taped Q&A from Kaylee herself! There are also lots of door prizes available to be won. And who knows, there is usually always a surprise or two! ITB and Free Comic Book Day pt. 2Just wanted to say thanks to the folks who came out and saw us today down at Elfsar, and to the ones who came later in the afternoon (possibly from the meet-up group), so sorry we missed you. We'd gone down the street to get something to eat, and upon our return were informed we'd missed people who'd come down to see us. We ended up stationed in the "Whedon Corner", where Elfsar's owner/manager Ethan had set up a bunch of Whedon related merchandise. This is also where the TV was that we played our DVD on. No, the episode isn't done, but we had a DVD of promo stuff. There was the original V-Con trailer, the new Trailer that Damien literally spent all night (and portions of this morning) cutting together, the Global News story, and the Christmas special. This was playing in a continuous cycle all day. For the early part of the day, we mostly felt like we were in the way of what was going on in the store, but later on people started asking questions, and noticing that some of us in the store, were up there on the screen. That part was fun, for a lot of the time though we were just amusing each other, as we often do. Good times. ITB and Free Comic Book DayElfsar (in Yaletown) is hosting a Free Comic Book Day event at their store on Saturday, May 5th. For those who don't already know, ITB has been invited as guests. Ethan, the owner, is a die-hard Browncoat, and is very supportive of ITB, and wants to help us promote it in anyway that we can. Various members of the cast and crew will be on hand to talk about ITB, and general Firefly goodness. So if you're in Vancouver, stop by and say hi :) Here's a link to the information on the Elfsar website: Into the Black's MediaYou can navigate to all of the media released by Into the Black below, or through the menu items at left. Our Image Gallery contains all of our still photos, including wallpaper and production stills. The Local Media Collection presents all the music, video, and multimedia hosted directly on this site. And finally, the Remote Media Page is a list of links to all the Into the Black media hosted on other sites, primarily Splat Films and YouTube. Global broadcasts TONIGHT (Mar 4)Sweet mother of sudden! I received a call from the Global National producer who did the segment on ItB - he said it's going to air TONIGHT! The Global National news broadcast airs at 5:30 PM in all time zones across Canada (staggered for this), and it will apparnelty also stream on their website, www.globalnational.com. None of this makes it available to our fans outside Canada, apparently - but we'll post it for everyone to see as soon as we can. UPDATE!So... yeah.. an update... Uh... Yeah... No, seriously though. Sorry there haven't been many updates lately, mainly because we all went out and found ourselves lives. DAMN YOU LIFE! But, on the good news, is that we are filming again and things are finally getting re-organised for the new year. Soon we'll have all our sets built and all of Episode 1 filmed! WOO! Hopefully our editors and CGI guys haven't buggered out without telling anyone. I'm excited for what we have planned for all you folks, and I hope you like the results. I'll try to pump out more of these blogs as much as possible, just so everyone knows we haven't run off and died in some ditch. Merry New Year from The Into The Black cast and crew!!!!Hello all! I would like to wish EVERYONE a big damn shiny (and merry) NEW YEAR! I hope everyone will have a great 2007! Now that it's January we can actually get the ball rolling again with finishing our first episode. If time and luck is on our side (they like to bugger off on us though, so I don't even think they'll be getting Xmas cards this year) we can make one or two more for your viewing pleasure. Cheers and best wishes to all! -Eric |
